Past Productions.

For my AS course i was required to make a music magazine that would look good and professional and relate the audience i was targeting. I enjoyed doing this i have a particular genre that i am into and thought it would be a great time for me to show my knowledge and understand of this. My target audience for my magazine (which i used the genre hip hop as it is my favourite type of music), the only target audience i really had was hip hop fans. People who listen to hip hop will be able to read about their favourite artists and they will enjoy this as it is what they are interested in. People who are fond of a different genre would not really appeal to my target audience as they wont find it interesting, the same as hip hop fans would not like other magazines of a different genre like Rock or Pop. The age range would be around 13-40 as this is the most common ages for people to listen to hip hop and still follow it; there will be people outside this range but the age range i have chosen counts for the majority of people. In the evaluation stages, i looked at each part of my magazine and seen how i had improved from my first drafts i had made. There was a huge different as i was much more enhance with the technology and had a better idea on what i needed to do and how i needed to make it by doing research and planning before making my final piece. I also evaluated it by comparing it to existing magazines and the companies that produce them and seen if my magazine would fit with the company.

For my A2 work, we was asked to make a music video. This was a very fun, interesting yet extremely hard task due to many technology problems that had occurred during this task. As i did the same genre of music from my AS coursework, i found it easier to get ideas and inspirations as i knew what i was looking for. The AS work helped me a lot in this as i had done a lot of research for it and then when it came to my A2 work i had much better knowledge of the genre. The target audience was again the same as my AS audience as it is in the same genre (even though my 41 year old uncle loves the song) and there is people who will be out of this age range but like the music. For the evaluation stages, i did the same as the AS one as i looked at my first drafts i made for this course and seen how i had improved on it. Again, having better knowledge with technology made it easier for me to do a better piece of work and make it to the best of my ability. I also talked about how artists now make their videos and what inspirations i got from them to complete my work.
